About Us

Jawn and Karen take great pride in the individualized service and attention that they provide to their clients.


Jawn and Karen have been married for 26 years, having raised 3 sons, now ages 21, 23, and 25. Their three sons have also been active in working in various capacities in and around the law firm. Jawn, a graduate of Indiana University (B.A. '77) and Indiana University School of Law (J.D. '81), has been practicing law for 30 years in Bloomington. Karen, a graduate of Indiana Univeristy in education, has worked in various capacities within the legal system in Monroe County including the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office, private law offices, and for several judges in Monroe County as court reporter.


Our office believes that:
  • Your telephone call should be answered by a person and not by a machine during regular business hours
  • Your telephone calls should be returned within 24 hours or less
  • Attorney's fees should be explained fully and supported by a written attorney-client fee agreement
  • You should receive an itemized monthly billing for any services performed and expenses incurred on your behalf
  • Your matters should be kept confidential
  • You should be treated with respect
  • You should receive copies of all documents that come in and out of our office on your behalf
  • You should be regularly informed of all progress on your case and any court dates that have been set
